Reading with André Kudernatsch "You can forget all about it - a dementia report"
A reading that gets under your skin: cabaret artist, author and former press spokesman for the city of Jena, André Kudernatsch, will be presenting his new book "Das kannst du voll vergessen - Ein Demenz-Report" next Thursday.
Thursday, September 25, 2025, 7-9 p.m.
Ernst Abbe Library Jena, Helene Petrenz Hall
Admission: free, barrier-free access
In his report, Kudernatsch gives an unsparing, humorous and touching account of life with his father, who suffers from dementia. Between loving memories, chaotic everyday life and moving moments of closeness, a literary insight into a disease that affects many families - and yet often remains hidden - is created, accompanied by Andreas Groß on the piano, who creates an atmospheric soundtrack to the texts with his own compositions. The result is an evening that combines literature and music to create an immersive experience.
The reading will be followed by a panel discussion in cooperation with the outpatient memory clinic at Jena University Hospital. The event takes place as part of the "Dementia Week" and is presented by "MitmachFORUM Jena - New Public Health", a cooperation between Friedrich Schiller University and the city of Jena.
