Reform of guardianship law - what's new?

The guardianship authority of the city of Jena offers the opportunity to attend a lecture on the topic of guardianship law. The reform of guardianship law, which has been in force since 2023, strengthens the right of self-determination of people under guardianship and the will set out in powers of attorney.

A spouse's right of emergency representation has been reintroduced and there are new suitability criteria for voluntary and professional court caregivers as well as a professional caregiver registry.
