Saale: Alert level 1 today in Jena

The swelling volume of water in the Saale due to the melting snow is expected in Jena today. The limit for alert level 1 will be exceeded. As things stand at present, the water level will not reach a dangerous height.

The flood model of the Thuringian State Office for the Environment, Mining and Nature Conservation allows the forecast to be calculated very accurately.

Within the next two days, the water level will fall below a dangerous level again.

Safety officer Benjamin Koppe: "The water brigade is prepared and is ready to contain any water damage. There is no immediate danger to the population at the moment."
