SaalePutz on March 26

It's that time again. Spring is approaching and so is the Saaleputz 2022. Originally launched by SaaleVision e.v., the Saaleputz will take place for the 15th time this year on 26.03.22. Organized by the community foundation and supported by the city, the Saale riverbank from Maua to Kunitz will be cleared of garbage. During last year's campaign, five containers full of garbage were collected and disposed of.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the organizers are asking people to register via the community foundation's online portal this year. There will also be no closing event; instead, goodie bags will be distributed to the volunteers as a thank you.

Mayor Christian Gerlitz: "I would like to thank both the community foundation and the many other supporters for the excellent organization and preparation of this year's Saaleputz. I hope that several hundred people will respond to our call again this year and once again support nature conservation with their commitment and further increase the attractiveness of the Saale in Jena."

Volunteers can get involved on a total of 9 sections from the riverbank or by canoe:

5 - Lichtenhain bridge to Paradies station

6 - Paradiesbahnhof to Camsdorfer Brücke

7 - Camsdorfer Brücke to Am Gries parking lot

8 - Kunitz

9 - Leutra

The Saaleputz 2022 is supported by the KSJ, DLRG, NABU/NAJU, Saalestrand-Kanu, Jeninchen Unverpacktladen, Jenaer Angleunion, Gewässerunterhaltungsverband "Untere Saale / Roda" and the local district councils.
