Saying "thank you" with a good deed for 20 years of Kommunalservice Jena

19.09.2022

Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) supports the multigenerational house "Wohnpark Lebenszeit" of the AWO Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V.

20 years ago - on January 1 - Kommunalservice Jena started its business operations under its current name and logo. This makes it the oldest municipal enterprise in the city of Jena.

On the occasion of its anniversary, the KSJ took over a day of painting and electrical work for the AWO Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V. on September 15, 2022. Within the framework of the civic foundation Jena, one can volunteer for projects. This is how the KSJ came to the project at the AWO. The goal was to let the "Gute Stube" of the multi-generation house in Lobeda shine in new light and garb. With this action, they wanted to do something good and support social commitment in addition to their daily work.

"Everywhere in the middle and no longer to be excluded from the urban picture", reports Uwe Feige, plant manager of the 1st hour.

Today, the company is anchored in a variety of areas of municipal services in the Jena cityscape and in the surrounding area. For example, KSJ is responsible for waste disposal, road construction, light and signal points, and the maintenance of urban spaces and green areas in the city. The KSJ also looks after the municipal cemeteries and runs the funeral home in Jena.

However, this is not possible without committed and reliable professionals who face the daily challenges of their entrusted tasks and master them with motivation and quality. With around 400 employees and currently 15 trainees, the company is well prepared for the challenges ahead.
