Severe weather warning for Jena
The German Weather Service is warning of gale-force winds of up to 120 km/h in Jena from Wednesday, February 16, 10:00 pm to Thursday, February 17, 6:00 pm.
The Jena fire department is also on standby and advises:
- Watch out for falling branches, roof tiles or objects. Trees can be uprooted and roofs damaged.
- Secure objects outdoors.
- Close all doors, windows and house entrances.
- Avoid being outdoors if possible. If this is not possible, keep your distance from buildings, trees, scaffolding, etc.
If you are traveling by car:
- reduce your speed,
- Be particularly careful when overtaking on highways,
- avoid forests.
The same applies after the storm:
- Do not enter forests!
- There is still danger from loosened roof tiles, branches, etc.
- A large amount of leaves can be expected on the roads - danger of slipping!
