Sport in the park starts again
Whether beginners or experienced athletes, the Erfurt - Weimar - Jena - Weimarer Land impulse region is offering a varied and free health and fitness training program for all age groups for the fourth time in a row with the "Sport in the Park" event series - outdoors and in any weather.
"Sport in the Park" is an open, free and non-binding sports and exercise program for the citizens of the region. Anyone can take part. Participation is possible without prior registration. All activities take place under the guidance of experienced and appropriately qualified trainers - in Jena from May to September every Wednesday at 5 pm. The new location for all activities is the football field of the Jena Hanfrieds at the sports hall complex in Lobeda-West. A Zumba course with USV Jena will kick off the program next Wednesday, May 7.
With this free sports offer, the impulse region would like to provide a further opportunity for active leisure activities. This year, for the first time, the Jena City Sports Association (SSB) is coordinating the activities.
"Thanks to the cooperation with the SSB and the participation of the many clubs, we were able to put together a varied program for Jena again this year and hope that there is something for everyone,"
says Vanessa Baum, Sports Officer for the City of Jena. The participating clubs should also be given the opportunity to present their sport and possibly gain new members.
In Jena, USV Jena, the Ostschule gymnastics group, Saalemander Jena, Wohnsportgemeinschaft Lobeda, Rope Skippers, Fitfür2, Fit durch Bewegung, Sonne im Paradies, Science City Jena, Capoeira Ibeca Jena, Parkour Erfurt, Tanzclub Kristall Jena and individual trainers are taking part. The activities on offer range from Zumba, yoga and endurance training to beach volleyball, capoeira, dance and parkour. A total of five locations in the region are taking part in the project.
