Subsidy for the Deutschlandticket for people up to the age of 18
From the beginning of the new year, the city of Jena will subsidize the Deutschlandticket for Jena children and young people up to the age of 18 with € 15.00 per month. This implements a resolution of the Jena City Council.
Users who are under 18 years of age, live in Jena and do not already use a subsidized ticket are eligible. The subsidized ticket will cost €34.00 as long as the price of the Deutschlandticket remains stable. The scheme is initially valid until 31.12.2024 at the latest.
The ticket is available from the Jena public transport service center at Saalstraße 8a. The necessary forms for the application are available there. They will be happy to answer any questions. The Deutschlandticket can also be booked online as a subscription with Jenaer Nahverkehr. Existing contracts with Jenaer Nahverkehr will be automatically converted.
Important: The subsidy can only be used when taking out a subscription with Jenaer Nahverkehr, but not when booking Deutschlandtickets with other providers such as Deutsche Bahn.
Other options for discounts on ticket prices, such as the statutory and voluntary school transport services and the mobility ticket, remain available in Jena as usual.
