Successful seminar on the development of Krippendorf, Lützeroda and Vierzehnheiligen

03.08.2021

On Saturday, July 24, 2021, a seminar on the development of Krippendorf, Lützeroda and Vierzehnheiligen took place in the fire department clubhouse in Lützeroda. This event was an important step towards ensuring that the three Jena districts of Krippendorf, Lützeroda and Vierzehnheiligen can be further developed from 2023 as part of the village renewal funding program of the state of Thuringia.

In January 2021, the city of Jena decided that these districts should become funding priorities for village renewal and that a corresponding application should be submitted to the state. The aim is to strengthen and carefully develop these rural villages on the plateau in the north-west of Jena. Village renewal offers funding for urban and private projects, as well as for specialist advice.

Residents of the three districts took part in the seminar. Dr. Seidel from Weimar, a freelance architect and specialist in rural projects, moderated the event. The aim of this workshop was to work out the residents' view of their village, their interests and concerns and to collect initial ideas. In a lively exchange, strengths and weaknesses of the villages' development to date were identified and project ideas formulated. These are to be incorporated into the community development plan for the three villages, in which the objectives and measures for village development will be worked out and formulated in concrete terms. The Gera-based office mip was commissioned with this planning. Its representative, Mr. Keller, also took part in the seminar and was therefore able to take on board the many suggestions and ideas directly.

Something else became clear during the joint seminar: the representatives of the three districts would like to work together more closely than before in view of the many similarities and shared interests. The first starting points have already been discussed.

At the end of the seminar, the village development advisory board was formed. 13 men and women from the three villages have agreed to play a committed role. The advisory board will accompany the community development planning. In January 2022, the jointly developed planning document will form the basis for applying for inclusion in the village renewal program from 2023.
