Summer, sun: Holidays in Winzerla
Summer, sun: vacation in Winzerla
Friday, July 15 is the last day of school, and 6 relaxing weeks of summer vacation begin.
"Relaxation is sorely needed for most children after another school year dominated by coronavirus and the associated restrictions," says Michael Dietzel from Freizeitladen in Winzerla.
The child and youth workers (Hugo youth center, Freizeitladen, Streetwork Winzerla and Konfliktkompetenz Thüringen e.V.) have therefore joined forces again this year to put together a vacation program that meets the needs of Winzerla's children and young people.
"We are expecting over 100 children and young people to take part in the vacations this year and up to 50 participants every day," reports Karin Felsch from the HUGO youth center.
Every week, the young people from Winzerla can choose between a vacation trip, a program group and, new this year, an open group. The new thing about the open group is that no registration is required, so anyone can join at short notice.
Tuesday is bathing day
Participants can look forward to a science week, a media and gamer week or a craft week, for example. There is also a different project every week in the more firmly planned program group, such as the self-defense week, circus week or street art week. The vacation trips are always a highlight - you can look forward to a rubber dinghy trip on the Saale, camping on the Leipzig lake district or in Hohenfelden, a fishing trip and a girls' trip. What would summer be without an outdoor pool? That's why Tuesday is always swimming day - no matter which group you are registered in.
Activities Monday to Friday
The offers are available Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Food is not provided. Streetwork Winzerla would like to point out that there may be subsidies for recipients of social benefits (such as ALG I & II, housing benefit, etc.) via the education and participation package. The detailed vacation programs with all the necessary information, such as possible costs or exact times, can be found at www.jz-hugo.de and freizeitladen.com. Anyone who is curious can also find out more and register at the facilities.
