Sunday: Election in Closewitz and Jena-Süd

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, the elections for the district mayors in Jena-Süd and Closewitz will take place.

Almost 10,000 eligible voters in Jena-Süd and 113 in Closewitz are called to vote. 5 polling stations in Jena-Süd are occupied: Jenaplan-Schule, Aktion Wandlungswelten, Freie Ganztagsschule UniverSaale, TIP, Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium. The valid polling station is indicated on the polling card. In Jena-Closewitz , votes can be cast in the fire station.

66 polling assistants will be working in the polling stations from 7.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. to secure the election. A further 12 people will be working at the postal polling station. In addition, 20 employees of the city administration are on duty: driving and janitor services, checking documents and election management.

The postal voting office at Löbdergraben 12 is still open until Friday, 18:00. You can apply for postal voting documents there and vote straight away. So far, 1,184 people have requested postal voting documents.

Absentee ballots must be returned so that they can be delivered to the city by post on Saturday at the latest. Letters can also be posted in the city council's post box at Am Anger 15 (rear of the building/Gerbergasse) until midnight on Saturday.On Sunday, letters can still be handed in at the polling station at Am Anger 15 until 6.00 pm.

The postal voting center will be located on Sunday in the consultation room on the first floor, Lutherplatz 3. The postal voting documents will be checked from 3 p.m. and counted from 6 p.m.. Both are open to the public - as is the counting in the polling stations in the districts.

The results will be published on jena.de in the course of the evening.
