Survey on energy use in Jena households
Press release from the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena:
The topics of electricity and thermal energy have gained enormously in importance in recent years and are also highly topical in Jena. In order to shape the future of energy supply in the city in a sustainable way, the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena is currently conducting an important survey on energy use in Jena households.
As a member of the JenErgieReal joint project, in which the City of Jena, Stadtwerke Jena and jenawohnen GmbH are involved, among others, the project partners are pursuing the goal of developing solutions for a needs-based and cost-effective energy transition in cities. One starting point is the intelligent balancing of energy demand and generation. This requires the support of the Jena population.
Numerous households contacted
Based on a representative sample, for which the city of Jena is responsible, numerous households were randomly selected for the survey and notified in writing. They received access to an online questionnaire by post. The questions relate to topics such as opportunities to participate in the energy transition and its effects. Another focus is the personal use of electricity and thermal energy.
Sub-project manager Professor Dr.-Ing. Matthias Schirmer from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the EAH Jena is asking for the support of all citizens who have been contacted:
"Only through the willingness of many to participate can we achieve viable results and enable a sustainable design of energy use in Jena."
20 shopping vouchers worth between 25 and 100 euros will be raffled off among all participants.
