Survey on gardens in Jena to start in the next few days
Jena is also known as the "city in the countryside". Gardens, but also forests, meadows, parks and green spaces offer active recreational opportunities for Jena's population. The needs-based provision of recreational areas, including gardens, is therefore an important part of long-term urban planning.
With this objective in mind, a garden development concept was drawn up between 2009 and 2013 and adopted by the city council. The results of a population survey were an important basis for the development of the concept.
Jena has developed dynamically since the last survey. For this reason, the garden development concept is currently being updated. For the update, the city would like to find out how many households in Jena use a garden and how much interest there is in renting or buying a garden. Over the next few days, 7,000 randomly selected residents will therefore be contacted and asked to complete and return a short questionnaire.
Participation in this survey is voluntary and anonymous.
The city council would already like to thank everyone who takes part. The more responses, the more accurate the results will be
says Mayor Christian Gerlitz.
