Test e-cargo bikes on the Eichplatz in Jena on Saturday

03.09.2024

How does an e-cargo bike ride? Anyone interested can find out on Saturday, 07.09.2024, between 10:00 and 15:00 on Eichplatz in Jena. As part of a roadshow, 12 different two- and three-wheeled e-cargo bikes will be available for testing. After a short briefing, visitors can try out the cargo bikes - known as Cargobikes in English - free of charge and be impressed by the fun and versatility of the bikes.

The members of the roadshow team are trained on the test bikes and are available to answer questions. They offer independent and manufacturer-neutral advice. There is no commercial interest in selling the bikes.

"We are delighted that the Cargobike Roadshow is stopping off in Jena. Because it helps to get people excited about sustainable mobility. In doing so, it supports the promotion of cycling and strengthens local cargo bike initiatives as well as the stationary trade,"

emphasizes Mayor and Head of Urban Development and Environment Christian Gerlitz.

Details of the fleet

The composition of the fleet provides a current market overview. The cargo bikes are equipped with pedelec25 drives and superstructures for private use. Even though the fleet is aimed specifically at private individuals, companies are also welcome on the test course. Bodies for commercial use are also available for most of the test bikes.

The Cargobike Roadshow in Jena is supported by the local bike dealers Bike and Snow, Bike Point and Kemter. The stores benefit from the event as the test rides provide them with valuable feedback on the bikes from the perspective of potential users and cargo bikes gain more visibility overall.
