Third Christopher Street Day Jena on Saturday

29.07.2022

On Saturday, 30.07.2022, numerous people will once again take to the streets to demonstrate for the rights of queer people. The demonstration organized by the CSD Jena Alliance, which is expected to attract between 2,000 and 3,000 people, will begin at 2 p.m. in front of Westbahnhof station and lead through Jena's city centre. At intermediate rallies on the campus, at the main university building and on the Holzmarkt, this year's demands of the alliance will be read out during various speeches.

Afterwards, from 16:00 to 20:00, the Rasenfest will take place on Rasenmühleninsel in Paradiespark. In addition to a stage program with bands, a dance performance and a slam, the team has also organized a variety of information stands and catering.

From 17:00 to 19:00, it will also be possible to take part anonymously and free of charge in a rapid HIV and syphilis test offered by AIDS-Hilfe Weimar/Ostthüringen at its office (Löbdergraben 25A).

This year, the alliance's demands to politics and society include the equality of all family models, the abolition of the transsexual law and the ban on blood donations, the creation of queer youth centers and sufficient funding for empowerment and encounter projects for queer people. The term "queer" refers to all people who do not fit into the romantic, sexual and/or gender norms of society. All demands can be read in detail on the alliance's website.

Further information on the demonstration and the events taking place afterwards can be found on the CSD Jena Alliance website and on its social media channels. In view of the current increase in the number of corona cases, the CSD Jena Alliance recommends taking a quick or self-test in advance, keeping a distance of 1.5 meters and wearing a medical mask.

The CSD is supported by the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Jena.
