Traffic accident between cyclist and streetcar

Today (23.02.2026) at around 11:15 a.m., a traffic accident occurred between a cyclist and a streetcar near the stop at Enver-Şimşek-Platz in Jena-Winzerla. The person was seriously injured, but was not trapped under the streetcar. During the rescue operation, streetcar line 2 was interrupted until around 12:00 p.m. The police have begun investigating the circumstances of the accident.

In addition to the police and the rescue service, the Jena professional fire department and the Winzerla volunteer fire department were also deployed.
