Traffic restrictions due to demonstration on Saturday
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, the Thuringian state association of the grassroots Democratic Party of Germany has announced a demonstration with rallies on the Jena market.
The kick-off rally (in front of the town hall) will take place in the south-west corner of the market from 3.00 pm.
From 3.30 p.m., the subsequent procession will head towards Friedensberg via Löbderstraße / Holzmarkt / Grietgasse / Engelplatz / Schillerstraße / Ernst-Haeckel-Platz / Forstweg / Schroeterstraße / Strigelstraße / Friedrich-Schelling-Straße / Katharinenstraße / Lutherstraße / Westendstraße / Talstraße / Katharinenstraße / August-Bebel-Straße / Wagnergasse / Johannisplatz / Johannisstraße / Rathausgasse / Kirchplatz back to the market.
The final rally will take place there at around 4.30 pm.
Participants in the rally and march are required to wear a qualified face mask. Furthermore, the minimum distance of 1.5 meters applies during the march and a minimum area per participant of 2.5 square meters during the rallies.
The march will be secured by the police. There will be temporary closures along the route of the march.
A counter-demonstration will take place in the north-eastern area of Eichplatz (opposite the town hall) with the slogan: "Taking the ground away from the grassroots". The demonstration is scheduled to run from 14:30 to 22:00. During this time, there will be partial closures of the parking lot at this location.
Mouth-nose cover and social distancing rules will also apply to this rally.
