Transplanting large trees on Naumburger Strasse

As part of the extension of the streetcar line to Jena-Nord, 12 lime trees will be replanted in the area of Naumburger Straße (Himmelreich).

From 08.03.2021, the trees will be removed and moved to prepared planting pits in Wiesenstraße near the junction with Loquitzweg. These large tree transplants will fulfill the requirements of the planning approval decision for the Jena North tramway construction (preservation of individual trees through large tree transplants).

The work will be carried out by a gardening and landscaping company.

All trees intended for removal have already been professionally prepared for two years. For this purpose, training and relief cuts were carried out as well as pruning of the root areas to form a transplantable root ball.
