Transport project launched at the Janusz Korczak daycare center

A traffic garden is being installed in the garden of the Janusz Korczak daycare center on Bibliotheksweg. This is part of a larger traffic project initiated by the daycare center's support association. The start had been planned for over two years. Now the implementation can finally pick up speed.

The aim is to teach the children and their parents more safety when using scooters and bikes in road traffic. To this end, information points will also be set up in the daycare center. In addition, the children are given materials to improve their visibility in road traffic. These include signal collars, reflective tapes and reflectors for bikes and rucksacks.

Sparkasse Jena-Saale-Holzland is contributing €1,000 to the project. The symbolic cheque was handed over on Children's Day on June 1, 2022.

A toy filling station was also unveiled as a surprise for the children. This was lovingly built by the janitor of the daycare center. Here they can practise maintaining and refuelling their little scooters and tricycles - either with traditional petrol or modern electric power.
