Tree felling planned on Kahlaische Straße

Two trees have to be felled in the area of the construction site for the new footpath and cycle path on Kahlaische Straße. The measure is unavoidable for reasons of road safety and due to the poor health of the trees.

The roots of the two lime trees were damaged during the ongoing civil engineering works. In conjunction with previously identified vitality deficiencies, the assessment by the specialist department has shown that their stability is no longer guaranteed. The trees can therefore no longer be preserved. In order to preserve the avenue character of the area, replacement planting is planned in the same place in the near future.

The felling work is expected to be carried out on 29.10.2025, taking into account the applicable environmental and nature conservation regulations. Due to the necessary closure of one side of the road, there may be traffic obstructions.
