Volunteer card handed over in Jena
Volunteering strengthens people and brings the community together. 29 people who are particularly committed to volunteering were presented with the Honorary Matscard for the years 2023/24 on Wednesday. The Jena Volunteer Advisory Board is responsible for the selection. Chairwoman Elisabeth Wackernagel and her deputy Heidi Scheller presented the cards at the Schwarzer Bär hotel to citizens who are involved in sport, environmental protection, social issues and education in Jena.
The Ehrenamtscard offers discounts at various facilities throughout Thuringia. The aim is to say a small thank you.
Eberhard Hertzsch, Head of Social Affairs, emphasized the importance of volunteering for the community. Without the voluntary work of those present, society would be poorer and colder. He thanked all those involved for their valuable services.
