Vote now: Who will be Jena's sportswoman, sportsman or team of the year?
The nomination phase for the Jena Night of Sport 2026 is over. There was a great deal of interest: more than 60 proposals were submitted in the six categories. This shows once again how diverse, active and committed Jena's sports landscape is.
A committee made up of representatives from the city of Jena, the city sports association, local politicians and sports clubs in the city has now decided on the nominees. There are up to eight candidates to choose from in each of these categories:
- Young sportswoman
- Young sportsman
- Sportswoman
- Sportsman
- team
- Exercise instructor
The public is now invited to vote until 14.12.2025 on who will be honored at the Jena Night of Sports on 28.03.2026 in the Sparkassen-Arena Jena. Once the public vote is complete, the committee will also cast its votes - both results will be included in the final decision.
Thomas Fritsche, Deputy Chairman of the Stadtsportbund Jena e.V.:

said Johannes Schleußner, Head of the Department for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport.
"With the Jena Night of Sport, we not only want to honor top sporting achievements, but also make the great voluntary commitment behind these successes visible,"
according to the organizers. For this reason, the city sports association also honors deserving volunteers at the Jena Sports Night. The committee will also deal with the category "Special services to Jena sport" and award the special prize for inclusion.
It is now also possible to purchase a ticket for the Jena Night of Sport. The ticket price is 49 euros including a champagne reception, buffet and an exciting supporting program. There is a special offer for the city's sports clubs. Special club tables can be purchased here.
