By when do the postal voting documents have to be handed in and how?

28.08.2024

Almost 26,000 Jena voters have applied for postal votes for the state election on Sunday by Tuesday evening (27.09.2024). The city administration asks that election letters be returned by Deutsche Post as soon as possible so that they are received by the city by election Sunday. Alternatively, the documents can be handed in at the postal polling station by Friday at 18:00. Election letters can be deposited in the administration's deadline letterbox in Gerbergasse (rear of the building at Am Anger 15) until midnight on Saturday. On election Sunday, election letters can be handed in at the election center (Bürgerdienste, Engelplatz 1) by 18:00 at the latest.

Anyone wishing to apply for a postal vote can do so at the city's postal voting office in the event room next to the Citizens' Service (access via Klostergasse). You can also vote here immediately. The postal voting office will be open until 16:00 on Thursday and until 18:00 on Friday.

Voters who have applied for postal voting but have not received the documents can complain to the postal voting office by Friday at 18:00 - at the latest by Saturday at 12:00 at the Citizens' Services, Engelplatz 1.
