Work stores opened in Winzerla and Lobeda
Jena has a new low-threshold offer for labor market inclusion. Mayor Thomas NItzsche officially opened two job stores in Winzerla and Lobeda today. These are intended to bring together long-term unemployed people aged 27 and over in particular and companies in the two residential areas by providing in-depth support. The first consultations will take place tomorrow.
The job stores offer a low-threshold service that complements the Job Center's regular services. The employees provide information and advice on the subject of work and, if suitable, place people in modular and adapted training courses. The aim is labor market inclusion. This means that jobseekers are placed in jobs and initially supported during the job placement process. At the same time, the relevant companies receive appropriate support. The aim is to create sustainable employment and fill vacancies in local companies.
Federal program "Bildung, Wirtschaft, Arbeit im Quartier" (BIWAQ)
The job stores are a four-year project of the federal program "Education, Business, Work in the Neighborhood" (BIWAQ). A total of 37 municipalities are participating nationwide. The city of Jena is the only project sponsor in Thuringia. In Jena, the Department for Family, Education and Social Affairs is in charge. The project partners are JenaWirtschaft - Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft mbH, AWO-Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V. and the consultancy firm Behling-Consult.
The aim of the project is to enable the large housing estates in Lobeda and Winzerla to keep pace with the rapid positive development of the city of Jena and thus strengthen social cohesion in Lobeda and Winzerla.
