World Children's Day on 20 September 2021

16.09.2021

Under the motto "Hey Virus, what's up?! - Wir Kinder und die Corona-Zeit.", the "Children's Rights Festival" will take place in Jena on the occasion of World Children's Day on 20 September 2021. At two separate locations on the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld, everything revolves around children's rights from 14:00 to 19:30, admission is free. Young and old are invited to celebrate, discover and marvel together after months of lockdown and restrictions. In addition, a colourful stage programme with music, circus and theatre will take place on the grandstand in the stadium and on the Jahnwiese there will be a variety of play and action stands with a bouncy parkour, children's disco and much more. In addition, there will be a child-friendly panel discussion with the Thuringian Minister of Education, Helmut Holter. Jena's mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche will also be on site.

The day of action is preceded by a painting competition for children on the subject of Corona virus. The pictures can be seen in the flyer and poster for World Children's Day and will be exhibited on the Jahnwiese.

The events of the holiday are promoted and supported by the city of Jena, the German Children's Fund as well as various youth associations and clubs.
