Youth camp of the Jena youth fire departments
35 children and young people are taking part in the Jena youth fire department camp this year. Members of all eight Jena youth fire departments are currently practising different types of firefighting work on the Triptis fire department's training grounds: extinguishing fires, pumping water, rolling hoses ...
Theory and fellowship are of course not neglected either. City youth warden Robin Altmann is once again in charge of the youth camp and is delighted that it is becoming increasingly popular. However, this also brings problems. Every year it becomes more difficult to find supervisors for the camp.
During their visit, department head Benjamin Koppe and fire department chief Peter Schörnig promised increased investment in volunteer work in the fire department. The youth fire departments generate the majority of the young firefighters in Jena. That is why targeted commitment is in everyone's interest.
As a "direct measure", motivating treats and a goodie bag from AOK Jena were distributed to the delight of those present.
