Form for requesting private housing offers for refugee accommodation activated

04.03.2022

The city of Jena is receiving an increasing number of messages from Jena citizens who would like to provide private accommodation for refugees. The Office for Migration and Integration will review the requests one by one and get back to the providers.

Integration manager Andreas Amend says: "Due to the large number of requests, there may be delays in responding at the moment. We ask for your patience. Our first priority is to provide for the refugees who have already arrived in Jena."

A form for reporting housing offers at www.jena.de/ukraine-formular is intended to facilitate further processing. Among other things, the form asks how many people could be accommodated, whether separate living spaces are available for privacy and how long it would be possible to accommodate refugees. The information entered helps to filter which housing offers are really suitable.

Andreas Amend adds: "Transit rooms, for example, or rooms that are only available for one or two weeks are not suitable."

Information on important questions and answers about accommodation can be found at www.jena.de/ukraine.
