Seniors' meeting place in Lobeda closes - LISA district center remains open
The published press release on the imminent closure of the senior citizens' meeting place in the LISA district center in Jena-Lobeda, operated by the AWO Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V., has led to misunderstandings among the population. We are increasingly receiving inquiries as to whether the entire district center in Jena-Lobeda would close.
The Jena city administration would like to clarify this:
The LISA district center will remain open and active in its usual form. The same applies to the Simis restaurant. Only the senior citizens' meeting place operated by the AWO in LISA will end on 31.12.2025.
LISA remains a place for culture, encounters and togetherness
The LISA district center is and will remain a central place for encounters, culture and engagement in Jena-Lobeda. The large event hall, the rentable rooms for clubs, cultural events, private parties and seminars as well as the institutions located in the building - including the district mayor's office, catering services and social organizations - will remain fully intact.
The LISA will remain the cultural heart of Lobeda - with concerts, readings, dance evenings, exhibitions, club work and much more. Since its opening in 1998, it has been a barrier-free place for all generations, where civic engagement, cultural life and social participation are actively practiced - and this is how it should remain.
The city administration would like to thank all those involved in the district and in LISA and looks forward to the further development of the building together.
