9th meeting of the city council cancelled

The city council meeting planned for tomorrow (Wednesday, 18.03.2020) will not take place. The general decree of the city of Jena prohibits all organized events due to the high risk of transmission, which is why all committees, advisory board meetings and meetings of the district councils have been cancelled until further notice.

Together with the main committee, the city administration is working on a solution as to how the competence for important decisions for the benefit of the city can nevertheless remain in the sovereignty of the elected city council members.

Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche emphasizes: "We want to avoid the emergency solution of urgent decisions of the Lord Mayor, which is possible according to ThürKO, if possible".
