City of Jena says thank you for voluntary commitment

13.09.2023

Once again this year, the city of Jena is thanking volunteers for their work. "For the first time, however, there will be a new, joint honoring procedure this year," says Elisabeth Wackernagel, Chairwoman of the City of Jena's Volunteer Advisory Board. The awarding of the Thuringia Volunteer Card will be integrated into the city's big thank-you event. The honorary office advisory board supports the celebration as before with a financial portion from the promotion of the Thuringian honorary office donation, so Wackernagel.

Proposals for Ehrenamtscard

The Thuringia Volunteer Work Card can be applied for no later than October 31, 2023. Associations, organizations and initiatives can submit proposals.

The Thuringia Volunteer Foundation launched the initiative eleven years ago as a way of thanking citizens who have shown a special commitment to volunteering. The Ehrenamtscard is valid for two years. The card now to be awarded is valid for the years 2024 and 2025 and offers the holder discounts for a wide range of institutions in Jena and throughout Thuringia.

The honorary advisory board of the city of Jena decides on the applications submitted. A total of up to 50 cards will be awarded this year.
