Corona situation picture for Jena: 106 new infections

05.01.2022

The specialist health service has reported 106 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Tuesday, 04 January 2022.

Background on the number of cases

The number of recovered persons has now been adjusted due to delayed entries over the holidays. 1396 persons could be marked as recovered in the system. For this reason, the number of active cases for Jena is now significantly lower.

The new infections affect widely scattered families as well as individual companies. Quarantine measures have been issued for individual groups of a day-care centre and a community facility.

So far, eight confirmed Omikron cases are available, the results of which have been received through random sequencing. Since individual Omikron cases have also been detected for family members, it can be assumed that the Omikron variant is also present for further cases in the families.
