Current situation on the arrival of Ukrainian refugees

918 refugees from Ukraine have arrived in Jena and are registered in the population register (as of 8.4.2022). 750 people are accommodated privately and between three and five new arrivals are reported daily. There has been no arrival of refugees via the central state distribution so far.

Of those registered to date, 100 are children under the age of 6, 230 are children between the ages of 6-18, 470 are between the ages of 18-60, and 100 are over the age of 60.

8 children have already been registered and arrived in daycare centers in Jena, and a place has been booked for another 16 children during the month of April. 67 children have already been admitted to Jena schools, the majority of them to elementary and community schools.

New initial reception center: Gymnasium SBSZ Göschwitz

From Friday, 08.04.2022 is the Gym of the vocational school Göschwitz, Rudolstädter Straße 95 in 07745 Jena, the central initial reception center for arrivals. Ukrainian refugees are allowed to use buses and trains free of charge for the time being. They only need to show a Ukrainian passport or other identification. They can take streetcar lines 1 and 3 to the "Göschwitz" streetcar stop. With bus line 12, 18 and 48 they go to the bus stop "Jena 21".

The previous initial reception point of the Galileoschule gymnasium will be returned to school operations.
