Since 01.10.2024, the City of Jena has had five departments instead of four. As a result, the organizational structure on the website will be revised and updated by the beginning of 2025.
Department 2 consists of the following areas

Municipal taxes team
Checking and processing assessment and apportionment notices, tax returns, applications for amendments and other tax bases and tax assessments are among the main tasks of the municipal tax team.

Representative for digitization
The planning, management and implementation of digitalization projects and overarching e-government projects are among the main tasks of the digitalization officer.

Team deployment
One of the main tasks of the Operations team is to organize the operations service in the three watch departments and two permanently manned watches.

Team JenaZentral
JenaZentral is the first point of contact for general advice on the services of Jena City Council, making appointments and the lost and found office.
Technology team
The planning and structural maintenance of the fire stations and extinguishing ponds are among the main tasks of the technical team.
