Election notifications are sent out

25.04.2024

Postal voting can now be applied for

This week, the city administration began sending all eligible voters in Jena their voting notification for the local elections. This must be received by May 5. Anyone who has not received their voting authorization by then is asked to call the Citizens' Services Department on 49 3828. In the week from May 6 to May 10, the electoral roll will be available for inspection in the FD Bürgerdienste (postal voting office, event room, access via Klostergasse). If necessary, objections can be raised against the electoral roll. Voting notifications for the European Parliament elections will be sent out in two weeks' time.

When the election notifications are sent out, it will also be possible to apply for postal voting documents (voting with a ballot paper). The city recommends applying online either via the QR code on the election notification or via the city's website www.jena.de/briefwahl. The issuing and dispatch of postal voting documents will begin on 3.5.2024 when the ballot papers have been delivered. The postal ballot documents should be returned by post by Wednesday, 22.5.24 at the latest to ensure that the ballot letters are delivered on time.

Postal voting documents can also be collected in person from the city's postal voting office (Citizens' Services Department, event room, access via Klostergasse) from 6.5.2024. The postal voting office is open on Mondays and Fridays, 8.30 am to 1.00 pm, Tuesdays 8.30 am to 6.00 pm, Wednesdays, 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and Thursdays, 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. You can also vote here immediately.
