Final spurt for the survey on everyday mobility in Jena
How does the population of Jena get around and which means of transport do they use for which routes? The TU Dresden household survey, which is now entering the final spurt, is dedicated to these points. The university will be writing to the last group of selected Jena households in the next few days. The addresses were drawn at random from the population register in order to obtain a result that is as representative as possible.
The survey will be staggered over several months in order to gain an impression of mobility behavior over the course of a year. The data will be analyzed after the end of the current survey round. The results are expected to be available at the end of the year.
Request for participation
Participation in the survey is voluntary - and important. Only through the active participation of as many citizens as possible can representative data be obtained, which is essential for future-proof transport planning. Accordingly, the city of Jena and TU Dresden are asking all selected households to answer the questions.
The city of Jena has been participating in the project designed by the Saxon university as a "System of Representative Traffic Surveys" (SrV) since 1977. This means that the City of Light has a unique time series on the development of the mobility behavior of the Jena population and is therefore in a position to derive trends and tendencies for the coming years. The survey also provides valuable information for analyses and planning in the local public transport sector and for transport network modeling - another good reason to take part in the survey.
Germany-wide mobility survey
The survey is the final sub-sample of the Germany-wide mobility survey conducted by TU Dresden. The Leipzig-based institute O.trend GmbH was commissioned to carry out the survey. All data is collected there, anonymized and handed over to the university for evaluation. Compliance with the provisions of data protection in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is guaranteed.
