International Weeks Against Racism

11.03.2022

The International Weeks against Racism 2022, initiated by the Foundation against Racism, will begin on March 14 under the motto "Showing Attitude". The city of Jena will also participate - together with local initiatives and actors - to set a clear sign against any form of exclusion and for tolerance, respect and human dignity.

A central event will take place on March 16 from 3 p.m. at the Flößerbrunnen, below the city balcony Winzerla. In addition to participatory activities, there will be actors on site who will present themselves with information booths. They include Streetwork Winzerla, Freizeitladen Winzerla, the Youth Migration Service of the AWO, the Local Partnership for Democracy Jena, Hugo Youth Center AWO, KoKont - coordination and contact point and the anti-discrimination office of the city of Jena - and others.

Since July 2021, the anti-discrimination office has been available as a contact point for people who have either become victims of discrimination themselves or want to confess incidents of discrimination. Incidents can also be reported online via the website: antidiskriminierung.jena.de.

Further offers in Winzerla:

  • 14.03.2022: Moroccan cooking event with young people in JZ Hugo from 1 p.m.
  • 17.03.2022: Information booth of the Respect Coaches at JZ Hugo from 13-15 hrs.
  • 14.03-27.03.2022: Further offers in the youth centers in Winzerla

The International Weeks against Racism will be opened digitally on March 14. The role of ambassador this year has taken over the club "Eintracht Frankfurt". Until March 27, thousands of actions will take place nationwide to stand up for tolerance, respect and solidarity.
