Investments planned in Jena

The city of Jena is delighted with ZEISS' plans to acquire additional space at its founding location in Jena to expand its production capacities.

Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche said:

"The city of Jena is an attractive location for business and innovation and, with ZEISS' renewed investment plans, will once again strengthen its profile as a photonics and high-tech center in Thuringia and beyond. With the further development of land in Jena-Isserstedt, the surrounding area of Jena is moving even closer to the city. Mobility, housing and infrastructure issues will be resolved with significantly more dynamism."

Mayor and Head of Urban Development Christian Gerlitz said:

"We are very grateful to the ZEISS company for its renewed commitment to Jena as a start-up location. During the development and progress of the new high-tech site in Jena, we were already able to prove that the city administration of Jena and its own companies are reliable partners for major construction projects in the city.
