Jena's schools remain closed on Monday, daycare centers are open
As the Thuringian Ministry of Education announced on Sunday afternoon, due to the current weather warnings and weather and road conditions, schools will be closed throughout the Free State of Thuringia on Monday, February 8, 2021. There will be no face-to-face classes or emergency care. The Jena school administrations and school boards have also been informed about this by the Free State.
According to the ministry, schools that would otherwise offer care will be staffed on an emergency basis on Monday to accommodate isolated arriving children until a pick-up can be organized.
The procedure for daycare centers should be decided independently by the municipalities, according to the ministry. Jena's daycare centers will be open for emergency care on Monday, February 8. Due to the short notice of the information, not all daycare centers could have been informed in time.
