Corona situation picture for Jena: 130 new infections over the holidays

The specialist health service reported 14 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Sunday, 02 January 2022. A total of 130 new infections have been reported since 30.12.2021 and are distributed as follows:

  • 30.12.2021: 55
  • 31.12.2021: 60
  • 01.01.2022: 1
  • 02.01.2022: 14

The incidence is currently 307.1. However, it is likely that due to the holidays, less testing was done overall and laboratories are delayed in submitting results.

Background on case incidence

Currently, no community facilities are affected. Among the affected cases are mainly younger persons (80s and 90s). Currently, 4 cases have been detected with the Omikron variant of the coronavirus, which has not yet resulted in any subsequent cases.

More than 11,300 vaccinations in the community-organised vaccination centres since the start of the programme

The vaccination teams at the community-organized vaccination centers ended the year with a successful tally of more than 11,300 vaccinations.

From January 02, 2022, the immunization centers will be open as follows:

  • Vaccination Centre People's House, 9am-6pm daily.
    The time from 9 am - 1 pm is reserved at the People's House for children's first and second vaccinations with an appointment.
    From 2-6 p.m., booster immunizations may take place. Appointment is recommended.
  • Vaccination centre Ernst Abbe Platz, daily 9-18 hrs.
    First, second and booster vaccinations can take place there all day. Booking an appointment is recommended. For vaccinations without an appointment, booking is recommended by 5:30 pm at the latest.
