State administrative office confirms Eichplatz planning

On Wednesday, 7.8.2024, the approval of the Thuringian State Administration Office for the development plan of the Eichplatz area was received by the city administration of Jena. There were no objections. The final step is now the public announcement of the resolution in the official gazette.

Mayor and Head of Urban Development Christian Gerlitz: "I am delighted that the planning procedure was able to clear the final hurdle this week and that a bold framework plan developed in the Eichplatz workshop together with the people of Jena has now actually been given building rights."

Background

At its meeting on 24.4.2024, the Jena City Council approved the decision to weigh up the options, the implementation agreement and the resolution on the Eichplatz development in construction site A. Further milestones for the Eichplatz site are summarized in the April 2024 report.
