Presentation of the 7th Jena Children & Youth Environmental Award

Together with Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck, the city of Jena is awarding the 7th Children & Youth Environmental Prize. The award ceremony will take place as part of "Dein Tag im Paradies" on Saturday, 25.5.2024 at 2 pm on the main stage.

Our soil: just dirt?

This year, the focus will be on something that we constantly trample underfoot, but which is just as vital to us humans as water and air: soil. Under the motto "Our soil: just dirt?!", the enormous importance of soil for people will be highlighted. Our soil is not just what we walk on - soil is a habitat, the basis for our food, a water filter and reservoir and it influences the climate.

The Jena Children's & Youth Environmental Prize comprises a total sum of 2,500 euros and can be divided among several prize winners. The prize is sponsored by Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck GmbH and the city of Jena.
