1000 Ukrainian refugees in Jena

In the city of Jena, 1000 people from Ukraine are registered and recorded in the Central Register of Foreigners. This makes Jena - measured by the number of inhabitants - one of the cities with the highest number of refugees in Thuringia.

Of those registered so far, 115 are children under the age of 6, 200 are children aged 7-16, 115 are aged 17-25, 450 are aged 26-65, and 80 are over 60.

Financial support for persons who have taken in refugees privately

The state of Thuringia has decided to provide financial support to persons who have taken in refugees privately. The accommodation of the refugees takes place against an expense allowance of 150, - euros per adult person per calendar month from the date of registration of the refugees by the city of Jena. The allowances are paid retroactively. For persons who have not yet reached the age of 18, a lump sum of 75 euros per calendar month is paid from the time of registration of the refugees by the city of Jena.
